A plastic-surgical procedure is a personal decision. At Gooimeer Clinics, we believe it is important that you know exactly what to expect beforehand. On this page, we answer the most frequently asked questions about treatments, safety, preparation, recovery, and costs.
If your question is not listed, our plastic surgeons will take ample time for you during a personal consultation.
Plastic surgery is generally safe when performed by an experienced, BIG-registered plastic surgeon in a well-equipped clinical environment. Every operation involves risks, but these are carefully discussed with you in advance. At Gooimeer Clinics, safety always comes first.
At Gooimeer Clinics, we only treat adults aged 18 and over.
We currently do not provide insured or reconstructive care. Therefore, a minimum age of 18 always applies.
No. Gooimeer Clinics currently provides only uninsured (cosmetic) care. We have no contracts with health insurers. Treatments are therefore always at your own expense.
Our clinic is fully focused on high-quality elective cosmetic surgery. At this time, we do not have contracts with health insurers. This allows us to maintain maximum focus on quality, personal attention, and efficient planning of your treatment.
Our plastic surgeons are BIG-registered. This means they are officially recognised and authorised to perform plastic-surgical procedures under Dutch law.
During the consultation, the plastic surgeon assesses your health, anatomy, and wishes. Together, we determine whether a procedure is safe and appropriate in your situation.
According to guidelines from the Dutch Association for Plastic Surgery and the Health and Youth Care Inspectorate:
A BMI above 32 is a contraindication for plastic-surgical procedures due to an increased risk of complications.
If your BMI is above 32, we cannot operate on you at this time. We will discuss this carefully with you during the consultation.
Smoking increases the risk of wound-healing problems and delayed recovery. Stopping before and after surgery is therefore strongly recommended and sometimes necessary.
During the consultation:
you discuss your wishes and expectations
the surgeon examines your anatomy
you complete a medical questionnaire
you receive an explanation of techniques and options
risks and recovery are discussed
you receive a personalised treatment plan and a price indication
The consultation usually takes 30 to 45 minutes.
A consultation at Gooimeer Clinics costs €100.
If you decide to proceed with treatment, this amount is fully deducted from the quotation for your surgery.

You will notice a difference immediately after surgery, but swelling can temporarily affect the appearance. We usually assess the final result after a few months.
The anatomical correction is permanent. However, ageing, gravity, and skin quality continue to have an influence. We aim for the most long-lasting result possible.
Yes. Procedures can often be combined safely. This is always discussed on an individual basis.
All treatments at Gooimeer Clinics are at your own expense. During the consultation, you will receive a clear all-in price, including surgery, admission, follow-up visits, and aftercare. No hidden costs.
Plastic surgery is tailored care. During a personal consultation, we discuss honestly what is possible—and also what is not.
