The endoscopic temporal brow lift is a refined surgical technique that specifically targets lifting the outer part of the eyebrow and the corner of the eye. With age, this lateral part of the eyebrow in particular tends to droop, which can cause a tired, heavy, or sad appearance and a closed-eye look.

Unlike a full forehead lift, this treatment focuses exclusively on the side of the eyebrow and the transition to the temple and corner of the eye. This can make the eyes appear more open, fresher, and more feminine or alert, without changing the character of the face. The goal is a subtle, elegant lift of the outer eyebrow and corner of the eye with a natural look.

01 When is a temporal brow lift appropriate?

This treatment may be suitable when:

  • the outer part of the eyebrow has dropped

  • the outer corner of the eye looks heavy or “closed”

  • you have a tired or sad appearance

  • the outer part of the upper eyelid is overhanging

  • you are looking for a subtle, natural rejuvenation

This technique is ideal when primarily the lateral eyebrow has descended, while the central forehead position is still sufficiently high.

02 What is an endoscopic temporal brow lift?

In this procedure, the tissue of the temple region and the outer edge of the eyebrow is loosened and lifted. This is done through small incisions in the hairy temple, using an endoscope to ensure precision and safety.

The lift restores the natural arch of the eyebrow and opens the corner of the eye.

03 The technology in detail

Through one or two small incisions in the hairy temple, the underlying tissue is detached from the bone. The lateral eyebrow and corner of the eye are lifted to a more youthful position.

The new position is secured with dissolvable hooks that provide long-term support for the tissue. These hooks dissolve gradually, but give the tissue sufficient time to grow firmly into the new position. Patients do not feel these hooks and are not bothered by them.

04 What is being corrected?

  • Drooping outer eyebrow

  • A “closed” outer eye corner

  • Overhanging lateral upper eyelid

  • A tired or heavy look

The result is a more open, refreshed and elegant eye appearance.

05 Result

The eyes appear more open and refreshed, and the eyebrow regains its natural arch. The results remain visible for an average of 5 to 10 years.

06 Possible risks and complications

As with any procedure, the following can occur:

  • swelling and bruising

  • asymmetry

  • infection or bleeding

  • temporary changes in sensation at the temple

  • temporary, or rarely permanent, weakness of the frontal motor branch of the facial nerve, which may affect eyebrow movement

  • hair loss around the incisions (usually temporary)

  • Is an endoscopic temporal brow lift the same as a forehead lift?

    No. An endoscopic temporal (lateral) brow lift specifically targets the outer brow and outer eye corner. The central forehead is not (or only minimally) addressed.

  • Will I look “surprised” after a lateral brow lift?

    Typically not. The lift is subtle and restores the brow to a natural, anatomically appropriate position. The aim is a refreshed look—not an over-lifted expression.

  • Will I feel the “anchors” (fixation) under the skin?

  • When will I look “back to normal” after an endoscopic temporal brow lift?

    Most people look socially presentable within 7 to 10 days. Mild swelling or bruising can last a bit longer depending on your individual healing.

  • Is the result permanent?

    The result is long-lasting, but ageing and gravity continue. You typically maintain a refreshed, more open eye appearance for years, with a younger baseline.
