The aging process of the face and neck does not only take place in the skin, but mainly in the deeper support layers. Over the years, the cheeks sag, the jawline fades, and the neck loses its firm contour. This leads to hamster cheeks, a less defined jawline, and a sagging neck.
The endoscopic facelift and neck lift restore these changes by repositioning the sagging tissue of the face and neck to a more youthful position. Unlike a classic facelift, no skin is removed or tightened. The correction takes place in the deep layers, leaving the face looking natural.
Because the skin is not cut away, this technique leaves no scars in front of the ear. The incisions are hidden in the hairy temple region and, in the case of a neck lift, behind the ear and possibly in the hair. This means that scars are usually inconspicuous.
This technique is only suitable for patients without significant excess skin. If there is a lot of excess skin, a classic facelift may be more appropriate from a medical and aesthetic point of view.
